Sally the Traveler

One of the jobs I maintain, as part of earning a living, is hosting tours for AAA Travel.

Sally specializes in tours that stimulate our brains and expand our knowledge, as we visit gardens, art galleries, theater, nature and eco-preserves (from Europe to Africa to Costa Rica). Repeated trips have included the Philadelphia Flower Show, London area gardens and the Chelsea Flower show, the Brandywine Valley and Hudson River Valley estates and gardens, and a variety of experiences in her beloved New York City.

Keep watching for what’s new!

2024 Was A Great Year for Travel

Thank you to all the dear people who traveled with me in 2024!  I was on the road for 64 days, and I have treasured your reviews, your company, new friendships, and your support. Here’s where we went:

  • New York City for theater (with Anthony Chase and WNED)

  • The Philadelphia Flower Show (twice)

  • The Bahamas (with “a perfect day in Cococay”)

  • The Chelsea Flower Show in London with garden & history tours, London and the Cotswolds

  • Buffalo area gardens (of course!)

  • The Berkshires and Tanglewood (where James Taylor surprised us!)

  • Chautauqua Lake and Chautauqua Institution (with wineries)

  • South Africa and Zimbabwe (the trip of a lifetime)

  • The Shaw Festival in Toronto with WNED theater expert Peter Hall

  • Mackinac Island (going back in time)

  • Christmastime in New York City (December 9-12) is Sold Out

  • Costa Rica Trip (January 2-10) is Sold Out

Looking ahead:  I continue to host tours primarily with AAA of Western and Central New York, but the employment structure changed. We tour managers had to form our individual businesses, so you may see me as “SallyTravels, LLC.” For now, watch for trips with me under AAA.com/Groups. While our tour host names aren’t featured on all trips on the website or flyers, you can always ask your travel agent, “Who is the Tour Host?” Let’s keep going together!

There will be more!
AAA is currently planning with WNED/WBFO staff to plan more great trips for 2025, so watch our websites and listen to the radio at FM88.7.

Into the Future…

I am making plans with my AAA associates for more trips ahead. My goals range from the Hudson River Valley to Montreal to the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show near London. I hope to return to Africa within a couple of years, and I aspire to more time in European countries as well. Let us know at AAA/travel what’s on your bucket list.
